Inspiring person

Ending on a bit of sad note, but for me the most inspiring person of 2017 was a little boy who’s name was Tijn. This boy put others before himself eventhough he was terminally ill.

Tijn raised over 2.5 million euros through painting nails for a fundraiser from Serious Request. And later another 1.2 million euros with his own line of nail polishes.

This boy just showed me how we all should be a little bit less selfish in life and start carring about others regardless of your own situation

I really felt so sad when I heard he passed away last July because of his illness. As a Dutch singer song writer wrote” you are a hero!”.

Writing about my most inspiring person for 2017 concludes my 2017 favorites!

Curious about my list of unfavorites for 2017? Please let me know! As I am intending to write a post about this one

As always feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts.

Until next post friends!

What I ate for dinner Sunday

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Today I was in the mood to share what I ate for dinner this Sunday.

And for today’s menu my BF and I made Chicken Korma with a simple cucumber, tomato and onion salad also known as a Kachumber😀.

I loved that this meal was done in 30 minutes and full of flavour. And whoop whoop leftovers to spare

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Until next post friends!

Tulip Picking at Dam Square

Tulip Picking at Dam Square

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies.

Last Saturday it was the annual Tulip picking day at the Dam Square in Amsterdam. I had never been to this event but the lovely BF persuaded me to go. And I must say this did not disappoint and I really enjoyed being surrounded by all the flowers. The only thing I did not really enjoy was that it was so crowded. But what would do you expect, Saturday, Amsterdam and full of tourist!

We had to queue for about 15 minutes and afterwards we were handed a bag and free to roam the square full of tulips.  It was really fun picking your own selection of tulips and being the decisive gall that I am it took some time to find the perfect set of tulips.

Look at all the pretty Tulips and their vibrant colors so colorful and cheerful. They definitely brightened up that grey wintry day.

All in all I had a delightful day outside and was able to bring some of the colorful cheer back into my house.

Until next post friends.

What I ate for lunch Saturday

What I ate for lunch Saturday

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

I could not resist sharing this quick little post of what I ate for lunch this Saturday. It was pretty dammn good!

Today I went out for lunch with my sister and my BF, and ordered this amazing  Avocado and Corn Brioche sandwich at the Thrill Grill in Haarlem ! It tasted so wonderful and creamy that I definitely order it again. The balance of sweet and soar was wonderful. To make my lunch complete I ordered a side of onion rings. Which was pretty delightful I might say!

Until next post friends!

What I got for Christmas 2017

What I got for Christmas 2017

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

I might be a little late posting this post ,but I really wanted to share what I got for Christmas 2017. I really love reading or seeing what people got for their Christmases, birthdays etc. Therefore I could not resist writing this post. I really got spoiled and received a lot of things that I asked for from Santa.

Curious about what I received? Continue reading and enjoy!

IKEA Gift Card

I really can’t wait to start spending this Gift Card as I have seen a lot of things I want and need from IKEA.

Lush Twilight Shower Gel

In a previous post I have stated  my love for this shower gel. And as Lush only brings this out around the Christmas period I really wanted a backup!

Scarf

A navy blue Sea Salt Infinity Scarf. I love scarves and as it is going to get nippy coming week, this will be very useful.

Food Hamper

Always useful! Who does not love a hamper full of Christmas snacks. This is love!

Amazon Gift Card

Love Amazon so this will come to use. I am sure I will spend it in a second.

Nespresso Innisia Coffee machine

Yeeh I finally have a George! Now I finally can be an adult and serve decent coffee when I have visitors. Whoop Whoop!

Coffee for the machine

Ofcourse George needs coffee capsules to make coffee. So I received 3 limited editions coffee capsules from Nespresso.

Philps Foam maker

To make the perfect Latte, I needed a Foam maker! And boy does this work. It is so satisfactory to see that troth created and tastes so good.

Prague Hat

Something to keep my head and ears warm when we get hit again by King Winter.

Continuing on my curiosity, what did you receive for Christmas? Pleas feel free and share what you received! If you are interested what I received last year? Please click here and continue reading.

Until next post friends!

Flying back to Bali  (Guess who is going to be back in town)

Flying back to Bali  (Guess who is going to be back in town)

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Yesterday on the 6th of December I started my 16.5 hrs journey back to the Island of the gods, a.k.a.Bali. Eventhough the conditions on Bali have been restless due to the volcanic activity,  I still wanted to bring you along on my journey.

I personally did not want to play a tourist who is just a curiosity seaker when something would happen to the volcano.

However the local people in Bali,  are being hit very hard due to this volcanic activity. If this activity would continue it would look like 70% of the people working,  will lose their jobs due to this volcanic activity. So they  really need the money. And that being said was also a reason for me to go.

Also the Dutch government did not issue a warning not to go to Bali. They only cautioned not to go the direct area of the Volcano Agung. So that being said lets continue on with this post.

I had an evening flight which left at 20.55 from Amsterdam to Singapore. Ofcourse I was at the airport 4 hrs in advance. As courtesy of the parents 😉.  God love them for bringing me to the airport, as I would say I was a bit nervous/ anxious to take this flight. After having a coffee I sad goodby to my parents and headed of to customs.

Customs went very smooth, even though I heard some swearing from the local officers because people did not remove their liquids.

After customs, I settled for some light retail therapy. And I would say the only part of my body that got excersise that day was my right arm swiping my card. Ofcourse I had to visit the MAC counter and caved into buying my favorite concealer, strobe cream and fixing spray. Neccesities in live right?

After the mandatory excersise, my stomach went on strike and demanded food. I felt considerate to said stomach and soothed my craving with  some Ramen. Which resulted in salt overload and humungous thirst. Very uncomfortable on a 16.5 hr flight. All though I must say KLM staff were making the effort on hydrating us frequently. Cuddos on them. However that meant I had to get way to familiar with one of my main phobias in live, TOILETS. Not just toilets, but airplane toilets. Getting to TMI here, I know lets continue.

I arrived at gate just on time for boarding and was pleased that I did not have to the Home Alone airport run. Yeeh team me!

Eventhoug all passengers were on board on time, the flight got delayed due to the avio bridge being broken, o well there are worse things.

Generaly the flight was ok there were some cases of  turbulence but survived by trying to fake my way through these incidents by sleeping and being master Shivu. The word inner peace came across a lot.

During the flight  I had  3 meals  which were all ( claimed) Vegan. And I must say compared to the other flight to Bali this was the better meal.

Dinner on 6 December was a Vegetarian falafel in a bell pepper sauce, some vedge and fruit.

Breakfast was Something Provincial. You can see that this breakfast  totally grabbed me. Hooray for sarcasme. A bun, butter coconut yoghurt and fruit. Must say my pallette did agree with the coconut yoghurt. Never had that before

The last dinner on 7 December from Singapore  to Bali,  contained a Polenta meal. All though must say they served it with some dodgy pasta  and lettuce leaves. Desert containt out of some Tapioca pudding and red beans.

So the flight time from Amsterdam  to Singapore  was 12 hrs and 50 min and from Singapore  Bali it took 2 hrs and 30 mins or so.  However calculating the lay over time it was about 16.50 hrs.

So I don’t have any exciting photos from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, however made some pics in  the plane, coming inbound and outbound from Singapore

I hope you are all excited for the coming posts from Bali and hope to see you back soon

Until next post friends,

Thumbs November Favorites

Thumbs November Favorites

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Another month has past and we have arrived to the last and most festive month of the year, December! That means it is time to share some of my November favorites! Envision a Drum roll in the background when you start reading this post and lets get through these faves 😃!

Favorites

Beauty Blender – I really  underestimated the power of the real Beauty Blender. Applying foundation with a Blender takes away so much hastle. Plus the overall skin finish looks so much better than when I apply foundation with a brush!

Lush Twilight Shower Gel – If you love the Twilight Bath Bomb you will love this! This is a great alternative if you don’t have a bath to enjoy. Please Lush! Bring this product  out all year.

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion – Another Lush product in the mix. This pairs so well with the Twilight Shower Gel. Now I only had the sample of this product, however I did experience a great nights rest. So I am really hoping Santa is getting this for me for Christmas😉.

MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter – A cult favorite from MAC. But yeah just have been levitating to this highlighter of late. It just gives a great sheen to the skin.

MAC Prepp and Prime fixing spray – Just repurchased this one at the airport, as I could not live without this product. Your makeup does looks better and stays on longer.

Loreal Matt Lip Laquer in 102 – I just love this red colour and when I wear this lippy I get a lot of compliments from friends and family.  Currently this is one of my go to lip products.

Douglass Light as Air Optimal Skin Hydration  Mask –  If you want your face feeling as soft as a baby butt, you really need to try this product. Your face feels so hydrated after application.

Vaess Xenos – I just love this Vaess it is sturdy, and  has a beautifull minty green colour. Also this vaess compliments flowers so well.

Faux Christmas flowers Xenos – These Roses give such a cozy / wintery feel in the house. Just love the fake snow on them. Also the silver branches just compliment them so well.

Christmas Ornaments – I bought these Cinderella Ornaments in October in a garden center. They are a bit OTT but I really like them and they go very well in my Christmas  Trea.

Unfavorite

Superdrug nose strip. The only question I have after using his product is: Does this work for anyone ? This nose strip did not do anything for me. I really took my Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass to try some sort of evidence that stuff got removed from my nose. However this was not the case. Really disappointed with the outcome of this product.

As it is now December I am not sure I will write a December favorites post. However this might be replaced  by the yearly faves. Nevertheless I hope you enjoyed reading this post and as always feel free to leave a comment😀.

Until next post friends

A Week filled with Fun activities

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Spring has started with a bang and has been quite active for me this past week. You can really notice that spring has truly arrived. Blossom is everywhere, hay fever season has started, and birds laying eggs everywhere (literally) ! On my balcony non the less. But hey that is a different story. Therefor I thought it would be fun to share some of my activities  of the last week.  Hope you enjoy!

Emile Sande Concert  I was so psyched that I was going to see her live, and I managed to obtain tickets for last Wednesday’s concert in the Heineken Musical Hall.

OMG!  Emile has such a beautiful voice. The staging and backdrops for this concert were done so very beautiful.  It suited every single song so perfectly.  Such a great concert!

Beauty and the Beast

Saturday my sister and I  went to Beauty and the Beast. I must say that this was the best live action Disney film up till now.  The film was beautifully made and I enjoyed the twists that they put in the film .

Besides these fun outings I stuffed my face with loads of food as you might see in the pictures below. Such a good week!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and hope to see you back soon!

Until next post friends!

A day in my Weekend Sans Obligations

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Today I thought it would be fun to share a day in my weekend.

I usually remain in my bed until whenever I want to. This could be 9 am or even 1 pm.  I start out going through my phone, read a bit of news, blogs and watch a little You Tube.

Afterwards I potter around in the house while prepping my breakfast. So by pottering around I refer to doing my laundry, tidy around the house start prepping for the big clean. I would say I am a clean person but I leave bits around in the house which makes my house look messy. Really trying to improve this. I just have to look the other way and my house is a mess again.

Usually my breakfasts contains out of some eggs ( most of the time soft boiled) some bread out of the oven and sometimes a banana smoothie. I love my banana smoothie. Anyone interested in the recipe?  Leave a comment! Trust me it is real easy!

During my breakfast I usually watch Saturday Kitchen followed by some other food programs it really depends what the BBC has planned. Yep I love food and love seeing  it on  a plate.

Afterwards I drag myself to the shower as I do believe it is important to keep clean and fresh.

Most of the time I like to incorporate a little exercise in the weekend. So this could be on the Saturday or the Sunday depending on my plans. Usually I plan the gym in combination with a cinema visit.  So I would see a film and then afterwards go to the gym and then go home.

If I have not done any groceries I will plan that afterwards my gym/ cinema visit. You might see a little habit here,  that I don’t like to go home and then go to another place, because when my butt sits down on my sofa at home I just don’t feel like doing anything.

So once home ofcourse I have my shower and then it absolute lazy modus, comfy clothing tv, mask, Netflix,  film,a nice drink and sometimes a snack. Just love this.  For dinner I usually have something easy which goes in the oven or is done in an eyes blink.  After dinner I fully continue on the film and tv bandwagon.

Pending on my mood I watch tv in my  living room or bedroom.  So of course in the end it is bed time and I it is time to get cozy and have a great nights sleep .

What do you do in your weekends?  Do you have the same routines or will you do whatever you want to do and you go with the flow? I hope you all liked this post! If you did like this post, and please like or subscribe and as always feel free to leave a comment.

Until next post friends!
