What I ate in Vienna

What I ate in Vienna

As a big food lover I could not  resist writing about what I ate in Vienna. I know this post is a bit belated , however I  hope you still enjoy this one. You can eat fabulous food in Vienna for a reasonable price. This is for sure one of the reasons I would go back to Vienna.

During my trip I had a combination of true Austrian and Asian European food. If you are a food lover like I am , please continue reading. I might have slipped in  some photo’s of some cheeky cocktails. Those were particular delightful! If I might say and write so!

I started my trip out with some Austrian Spatzle ( little dough strips boiled in water)  and Veal Goulash. This was such a comforting and warming meal. Especially since the weather was quite cold on the first day.  For sure this is something I would love on a cold wintery day.  In the evening  I had some Vegetable Risoto. To tell the truth I had way better Risoto. I would not say I am the worlds best connoisseur on how a Risoto should be, but the grain of this Risoto was still hard.  Such a no, no.

On day 2 we had for dinner a Seafood Curry Noodle Soup. This was really amazing the spices, the broth and the noodles. So delicious and very filling. As an appetizer  we had some Vietnames spring Roles and regular Spring Roles. These always go down a treat!

Day 3 brought some other Austrian food.  A vegetarian Eiern Knoedel and a true Austrian Desert Apfel Strudel.  The  Apfel Strudel was  surrounded by a sea of vanilly sauce. not too sweet but just right!

As we were peckish on some days when we came back from our day trips , we opted for nachos and some cocktails in the Hotel. Nothing beats  a delightful cocktail. During my stay I opted for a Strawberry Daiquri and a Sex on the Beach. Yes I have a bit of a sweet tooth.

What I ate in Bali version 2.0

What I ate in Bali version 2.0

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Another trip to a far away country means another post filled with delicious new food to share. Ok Bali is not new to me anymore, yet my  love for food will never die. If you love food like I do, I believe it will be hard for you to look away and not continue reading. So read on and drown in all this yummy food goodness.

Asian

I finally had the opportunity to try out some new Indonesian dishes. Such as Sup Buntut a delicious Oxtail Soup. The meat fell straight of the bone and was so succulent and  the soup was really filling as it was filled with vegetables and served with rice, emping and pickled vegetables.

Another new dish I had the pleasure to try out at Honeybees restaurant, was Babi Guling. Now if you  like pork and crispy skin, you will love this. Eventhough I am not the biggest meat eater I really enjoyed it. This dish was served with some rice and some green vedge. I am unable to recollect what it was.

I was already familiar with different forms of rice porridge but I have never tried out the Indonesian version, the Bubur. OMG! I love this for breakfast, hell I would have this for dinner it is really delicious and nutritious. You eat this porridge with flaked chicken, spring onions, fried onions, ketchap and sambal. So delicious. You can really dress this porridge the way you want it. If you have an opportunity to try this dish I would recommend it.

The other Asian dishes I ate in Bali were , Soto Ajam,Nasi Istimewa, Beef BimiBap, Green Curry and Chicken Springrolls.  Even though the spring rolls were tasty I had a hard time locating the chicken. Just had to share that.

European

During my stay in Bali I had some European/Western dishes. I had a chicken burger  with fries and some Carbonara Fettucini with a garlic crostini.

Drinks

Besides drinking a lot of water I had some sneaky drinks. Boy did I enjoy drinking my Virgin Mojito next to the poolside. That drink was so refreshing and provided the necessary sugar rush for during the day. Also I thoroughly enjoyed having a nice fruit smoothie, being banana or strawberry.

Deserts

During my holiday I did not have a particular sweet tooth. However I had the pleasure to try two. One was a bread and butter pudding served with strawberry ice cream.

The second desert was mind blowing and so delicious.  Now let me tell you what this was. Sweet Potato Doughnuts with a caramel based sauce. This was so good and the portion size was just perfect. Now If I would know how to make these doughnuts I would definitely give it a try.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post as I have enjoyed sampling all this goodness.  If you have any recommendations of dishes I should have tried out in Bali or dishes I should try in the future please leave a comment.

Until next post friends!

What I ate in Bali

What I ate in Bali

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

This post is dedicated to all you foodies out there. I thought it was about time to share what I ate in Bali with you. Trust me food is very important  in my life and Asian food is one of my faves! So I could not say no to writing this post! Please note  that there were 2 days I had some European food ( I know shame on me! )

But without further a do please check out the food and some drinks I had in Bali!

Unfortunately I cannot remember what I had on each day but here is the overview :

Nasi Goreng Gambing, Seafood Curry ( Cannot recollect the name) , Nasi Goreng Kampoeng.Singaporean Noodles, Gado Gado, Corn Fritters and  Kwetiaw Goreng Seafood.

European

Haloumi and Beetroot Salad and Penne with Mushroom

Drinks

Tropical Cocktail ( Again forgotten the name) and a green ice tea. The great thing about that one was you could adjust the sweetness of your tea. As my experience was that the Iceteas in Bali and Singapore are real sweet.

Deserts

Pisang Goreng with Ice and Nutella and cheese croissants.  Now you would say this sounds strange but I was pleasantly surprised.

Food is a joy in my life and I hope to find more delicious food in the years coming.

What is your favorite food and what would you recommend me trying? Feel free to leave  a  comment.

Until next post friends!
