Thumbs April Favorites and one unfavorite

Thumbs April Favorites and one unfavorite

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Today’s post contains a small selection of my favorites of the month of April. Surprisingly there was also an un- favorite in there, which might be a shock for some.

Letter Board – I was looking for something affordable to hang on my wall and when I came across this Board from Xenos I could not help picking it up. I really enjoy, that you can create your own inspiring quotes on them. Currently I have the quote ” Comfort is the enemy of progress”.

Kittens – So excited about this one. Eventhough I don’t have my kitties yet, I could not resist writing about them. During the Pentecost holidays I will be getting my 2 baby kittens. I am pretty sure that they will be in my May favorites. but I could not resist not mentioning them. I will disclose the kittens names soon!

Yellow Imitation flowers. These fake flowers I picked up in the Xenos. And they radiate spring. It just gives such happy feeling in the house.

Douglas day Mask – Leaves my face soft and nour ished after use . This was such a lifesaver after I fell ill during Easter. During this period my face felt so dry because of dehydration. This mask has a unique texture due to its foamy consistency. You leave it on your face for 15 minutes and remove it with a tonic or water. Et Voila your skin feels silky smooth.

Douglas Home Spa Soap in Polynesian Dream

I have mentioned the shower gel of this line before and this hand soap smells like a dream too. You just keep on smelling your hands all day.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – The reason why I am bashing on this cult favorite, is because the majority of time after wearing this mascara I end up looking like a panda bear. Either it looks flaky or I have smudges all over. I am so glad that I only have a mini version of this mascara as it did not work out for me.

Thumbs November Favorites

Thumbs November Favorites

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Another month has past and we have arrived to the last and most festive month of the year, December! That means it is time to share some of my November favorites! Envision a Drum roll in the background when you start reading this post and lets get through these faves ūüėÉ!

Beauty Blender – I really  underestimated the power of the real Beauty Blender. Applying foundation with a Blender takes away so much hastle. Plus the overall skin finish looks so much better than when I apply foundation with a brush!

Lush Twilight Shower Gel – If you love the Twilight Bath Bomb you will love this! This is a great alternative if you don’t have a bath to enjoy. Please Lush! Bring this product  out all year.

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion – Another Lush product in the mix. This pairs so well with the Twilight Shower Gel. Now I only had the sample of this product, however I did experience a great nights rest. So I am really hoping Santa is getting this for me for ChristmasūüėČ.

MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter – A cult favorite from MAC. But yeah just have been levitating to this highlighter of late. It just gives a great sheen to the skin.

MAC Prepp and Prime fixing spray – Just repurchased this one at the airport, as I could not live without this product. Your makeup does looks better and stays on longer.

Loreal Matt Lip Laquer in 102 – I just love this red colour and when I wear this lippy I get a lot of compliments from friends and family.  Currently this is one of my go to lip products.

Douglass Light as Air Optimal Skin Hydration  Mask –  If you want your face feeling as soft as a baby butt, you really need to try this product. Your face feels so hydrated after application.

Vaess Xenos – I just love this Vaess it is sturdy, and  has a beautifull minty green colour. Also this vaess compliments flowers so well.

Faux Christmas flowers Xenos – These Roses give such a cozy / wintery feel in the house. Just love the fake snow on them. Also the silver branches just compliment them so well.

Christmas Ornaments – I bought these Cinderella Ornaments in October in a garden center. They are a bit OTT but I really like them and they go very well in my Christmas  Trea.

Superdrug nose strip. The only question I have after using his product is: Does this work for anyone ? This nose strip did not do anything for me. I really took my Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass to try some sort of evidence that stuff got removed from my nose. However this was not the case. Really disappointed with the outcome of this product.

As it is now December I am not sure I will write a December favorites post. However this might be replaced  by the yearly faves. Nevertheless I hope you enjoyed reading this post and as always feel free to leave a commentūüėÄ.

Until next post friends

Thumbs review: Douglas Home Spa Polynesian Dream Shower Foam

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

As you might have read in my previous blog post I mentioned this shower foam. As it was one of my faves I could not resist to write a little blog post. Curious? Do continue reading!

Thumbs up for

The smell, OMG the smell!  it is just gorgeous! It has Kukui Oil & Noni Fruit in it. Before using this shower foam, I have never  smelled these scents before.

Cheaper option than the Rituals option, only ‚ā¨ 7.99. Don’t get me wrong I love Rituals but hey love this product and love the price.

No allergic reaction  and leaves the skin hydrated and not dry!

Thumbs down for:

Just a minor one! You finish the 200 ml real quickly. Booo !

Overall thoughts

This product rocks! Really love it!  The smell the texture the feel. Just so good! I am really curious about the rest of the range. So hope to try something new from this range soon.

Thumbs February Favorites

Thumbs February Favorites

Hi Everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

March has started and it is time for a very belated Thumbs February Favorites. This blog post contains some lifestyle and beauty faves. So I hope you will enjoy it !

Douglas Home Spa Balancing Shower Foam in Polynesian Dream.

This just smells very Spa like and smells so clean. It is very hard for me to describe this fragrance but it smells sooo good.  So if you can get hold of this shower gel I would !

Essie For the Twill of It

This is just such an interesting polish. Sort of monochromatic. You can see different colors in it like blue’s,purple’s, greens and grey’s. It is just gorgeous and this polish ¬†wears very well.

Cauliflower Rice

Side tracking a bit here but please bear with me. This is such a great alternative to rice if you don’t want any carbs for your dinner. ¬†For example the cauliflower rice matches very well with a green vegetable curry.

Mac Face and Body Foundation in NC25

It is a nice light foundation that evens out the skin tone for a natural look . I have often gravitated to this foundation if I felt like wearing foundation.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar pallet

Fave colours : White Chocolate, Marzipan  Strawberry  Bon Bon and Creme Brulee

MAC Strobe Cream

Just gives back a lot of luminosity to the skin. Your skin looks fresh, dewy and healthy and overall my makeup looks better.  But that is my just my opinion.

Booked Bali Trip

I cannot remember if I wrote about this before, but in 2 months time I am flying to Bali for a 16 day trip.  Whoop whoop! I have never been so far away  from home, but I am looking so forward to it. At the moment I have the time and freedom to travel and I am taking full advantage of that. My plan is to write some posts from Bali if I am disciplined  and if the Wifi agrees. So hopefully this happens.

I hope you all  enjoyed this post and as always feel free to leave a comment.

Until next post friends!

Skincare Beauty Haul

Skincare Beauty Haul

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

After mostly writing about opening my calendars, I thought it would be fun to write about a recent haul of late.

Last Tuesday the Douglas had a special evening where they offered their card holders an extra 25% discount. My sister and myself thought we would self-sacrifice our bank accounts and check it out.

I purchased  two things and got a free gift of purchase. Curious about what I bought please continue reading:

The GlamGlow  Gift Sexy YouthMud Set which includes:

1 X  YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment Mask

1 X GlamGlow Supermud clearing treatment 30 g  /1 oz

1 X GlamGlow Thirsty Mud Hydrating treatment 30 g/ 1 oz

I am really curious about GlamGlow as I have heard a lot of good things about this brand. Cannot wait to try this.I smelled the mask and it seems to smell very fresh. The good thing about GlamGlow is that you can use it multiple times so it seems a bit more budget friendly.

Of course I could not resist buying my fave sheet mask from StarSkin the Hydrating Bio Cellulose Second Skin Face Mask. With this colder weather my skin can use some extra juice and this is perfect for it.

My free gift of purchase was the Douglas Home Spa  Polynesian Dream Balancing Shower Foam which has Kukui Oil & Noni Fruit in it. Very exited to use this as I love foam shower gels. I wonder if this will win over the Rituals foam gells.

That was it for this haul!

Starskin Hydrating Bio Cellulose second skin face mask review

Starskin Hydrating Bio Cellulose second skin face mask review

Hi everybody,

Today I thought it would be fun to do a review.  As my face is in need for some desperate moisture I thought I would share my thoughts on the  Starskin Hydrating Bio Cellulose second skin face mask.

I have not read a lot reviews about these masks. I picked this mask up at Schiphol airport for 9 euros per packet. This particular mask is suitable for dehydrated, dry and depleted skin.

Starskin claims the following benefits:

  • Deeply infuses dehydrated skin with intense organic hydration
  • Rejuvenates and smoothes skin
  • Easy to use, next generation bio-cellulose delivers celebrity skin in 20 minutes
  • ¬†Cooling Second skin hydrating face mask

So let me show you how this face mask looks.¬†Don’t I look gorgeous with the mask. I might have struggled ¬†with taking the mask out of the packaging and placing this mask on my face. I think it ¬†fits nice around the cheeks but not well round the mouth. ¬†Maybe it is just the shape of my face .

Face after use of mask

Well wow my face feels so moisturized. This would be so nice to use after a flight and it feels so relaxing on the face . My verdict is that I would definitely repurchase this product. The only thing that I need to do tonight, is slap on my eye cream and night cream and give this face some well deserved rest.

Starskin face masks you can buy ¬†at Douglas, Asos, Selfridges. Sephora . Check out Starskins¬†website ¬†for more stores to buy these masks¬†. Hope you all enjoyed this post! For my last post click here.¬† So that’s ¬†all folks for tonight
