My first Charlotte Tilbury Haul

My first Charlotte Tilbury Haul

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

It has been quite some time since I posted, due to life craziness catching up on me. Maybe I will share some of that craziness on a later date.

Anyhow as the title suggests, I had my first encounter with Charlotte Tilbury make-up.

For quite a few years I have been lusting to try some products and some weeks ago, my sis and I ventured into the Bijenkorf to the Charlotte Tilbury counter. Prior to going there, I knew I would not leave the store without spending some money.

Firstly they market the products so Well. Lovely gold, lush and clean packaging. Amazing displayes of their lipsticks, blushes foundation and skin care were surounding me on my left and right side. And we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff.

Due to the miracle of YouTube, I could not resist trying out the legendary pillow talk lip liner and lipstick. After trying this I could not resist putting this in my shopping cart.

The lipstick and liner gildes on ever so smoothly. And eventhough a Matt finish not drying on the lips.

My 3rd item I opted for was the colour chameleon in Amber Haze. This is such a beautiful one stop product. Just swoosh on the lids and under the eyes and you have a stunning look.

After a further browse I got persuaded into buying the limited Magical mini brush set. The case is so feminine with the rose gold and sparkles. A great little gift to give for Christmas and useful for travel . The set contains the following:

  1. Blusher Brush
  2. Eye Blender Brush
  3. Lipstick Brush
  4. Eye Smudger Brush

I have not yet had the opportunity to try everything to the fullest, but can confirm I enjoyed the lipstick and liner. My next purchase might be the lipstick Glaston Berry. A beautiful Berry colour.

Thank you for taking your time spent reading my stories on the internet and have a lovely week

Until next time friends!

Shopping in Seminyak Village

Shopping in Seminyak Village

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

For todays post a little shopping session in Seminyak Village. I had not yet visited the city center of Seminyak and thought that I could not miss out on this experience.

As I usually have the tendency to walk the opposite direction of where I should be heading,I opted for the free of charge shuttle bus the hotel provided to get to said village. Yeap I am one of those lost causes who does not have any sense of direction. Turns out that during one of my walking sessions I was quite near to the village. But that is another point of discussion.

Due to a slow start of the day and not booking my spot on the shuttle I left the hotel at 4 pm and arrived in the village 4.10 pm.  I was greeted by a lot of shops and the mall to my right hand side. As I was curious about the mall I first headed that direction.

I was not overly impressed by the mall so I started browsing the streets. Getting ocasionally asked to take bike lessons, to which my reply was a sturdy but friendly ‘no’. So yes if you are in Bali be preparred to be asked those questions often.

Venturing outside the mall, finally had the expected outcome and resulted in some purchases. Exhausted and extremely thirsty of my trip, I treated myself to a coke at a tiny bistro before heading back to the hotel.

As you might see in the pictures below, the Balinese people in Seminyak are ready for Christmas. The trees in the mall and in the village are lit up so beautifully. I could not resist putting in some pics of those.

Overall I can say I enjoyed my outing to Seminyak Village.  For cheaper shopping options the locals recommended to shop in Kuta. So guys if you are in the Kuta area, and interested in cheaper deals head over there. I don’t know if I would go there as I heard Kuta is very  crowded. Something I personally don’t like.

So finishing on some recommendations and preferences concludes this blogpost.Let me know if you would like to see a haul related to my shopping spree!

Until next post friends ūüėĀ!

Flying back to Bali¬† (Guess who is going to be back in town)

Flying back to Bali¬† (Guess who is going to be back in town)

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Yesterday on the 6th of December I started my 16.5 hrs journey back to the Island of the gods, a.k.a.Bali. Eventhough the conditions on Bali have been restless due to the volcanic activity,  I still wanted to bring you along on my journey.

I personally did not want to play a tourist who is just a curiosity seaker when something would happen to the volcano.

However the local people in Bali,  are being hit very hard due to this volcanic activity. If this activity would continue it would look like 70% of the people working,  will lose their jobs due to this volcanic activity. So they  really need the money. And that being said was also a reason for me to go.

Also the Dutch government did not issue a warning not to go to Bali. They only cautioned not to go the direct area of the Volcano Agung. So that being said lets continue on with this post.

I had an evening flight which left at 20.55 from Amsterdam to Singapore. Ofcourse I was at the airport 4 hrs in advance. As courtesy of the parents ūüėČ.  God love them for bringing me to the airport, as I would say I was a bit nervous/ anxious to take this flight. After having a coffee I sad goodby to my parents and headed of to customs.

Customs went very smooth, even though I heard some swearing from the local officers because people did not remove their liquids.

After customs, I settled for some light retail therapy. And I would say the only part of my body that got excersise that day was my right arm swiping my card. Ofcourse I had to visit the MAC counter and caved into buying my favorite concealer, strobe cream and fixing spray. Neccesities in live right?

After the mandatory excersise, my stomach went on strike and demanded food. I felt considerate to said stomach and soothed my craving with  some Ramen. Which resulted in salt overload and humungous thirst. Very uncomfortable on a 16.5 hr flight. All though I must say KLM staff were making the effort on hydrating us frequently. Cuddos on them. However that meant I had to get way to familiar with one of my main phobias in live, TOILETS. Not just toilets, but airplane toilets. Getting to TMI here, I know lets continue.

I arrived at gate just on time for boarding and was pleased that I did not have to the Home Alone airport run. Yeeh team me!

Eventhoug all passengers were on board on time, the flight got delayed due to the avio bridge being broken, o well there are worse things.

Generaly the flight was ok there were some cases of  turbulence but survived by trying to fake my way through these incidents by sleeping and being master Shivu. The word inner peace came across a lot.

During the flight  I had  3 meals  which were all ( claimed) Vegan. And I must say compared to the other flight to Bali this was the better meal.

Dinner on 6 December was a Vegetarian falafel in a bell pepper sauce, some vedge and fruit.

Breakfast was Something Provincial. You can see that this breakfast  totally grabbed me. Hooray for sarcasme. A bun, butter coconut yoghurt and fruit. Must say my pallette did agree with the coconut yoghurt. Never had that before

The last dinner on 7 December from Singapore  to Bali,  contained a Polenta meal. All though must say they served it with some dodgy pasta  and lettuce leaves. Desert containt out of some Tapioca pudding and red beans.

So the flight time from Amsterdam  to Singapore  was 12 hrs and 50 min and from Singapore  Bali it took 2 hrs and 30 mins or so.  However calculating the lay over time it was about 16.50 hrs.

So I don’t have any exciting photos from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, however made some pics in  the plane, coming inbound and outbound from Singapore

I hope you are all excited for the coming posts from Bali and hope to see you back soon

Until next post friends,

3 Days of birthday festivities

3 Days of birthday festivities

Hello friends,

I turned 29 on the 18th of May! Yeeh!  Because it was a bank holiday on a Monday I took the Tuesday and the Wednesday (my birthday) off. So yeeh for long weekends! Because my birthday was in the middle of the week and a lot of people had to work I got two birthdays! Who does not enjoy that huh?

Day 1 pre -birthday (17th May )

Tuesday I went shopping in the city Haarlem and Purmerend with my mother. So my mum and I started in Haarlem. We were browsing the little stores in the center of Haarlem but we decided to have lunch first. We settled to go to Cafe Brinkman which is located on the Grote Markt in Haarlem Center.  I had a sandwich Bali which  was quite tasty . The sandwich photographed really well. Such a nice big sandwich.

I was really surprised that when my mum and I were out and about  it was really nice weather, as the Forecast that week was crap.  It was sunny and even I felt hot on occasion. After lunch we visited some stores  tried on some things and then we decided to go back to Purmerend and do some shopping there.  Once done we returned to my parents house and had some pizza and salad and ofcourse some cake. The cake was really good but I had too much. At 0.00 hours I opened some pressies. Awesome!

Day 2 The real birthday ( 18th May)

Day 2 I spent with my sister. She told me to be at Haarlem station at 12.45 hours ¬†so we could get lunch at 1300 hours. ¬†Lunch, really sis ! She made me ¬†walk this weird route . And I was like what is going on. Where are we having lunch? And then we ended up at Douglas at the MAC counter !! Hell yeah!! I got a MAC make over and afterwards I could choose ¬†‚ā¨ 60,- worth of products! Pretty sweet! As I was in the moment , I sort of caved and purchased some other stuff from MAC. So below you can see the items the MAC artist used on me. Can I just say that the MAC water weight foundation is awesome. My skin looked really nice.

After my MAC makeover we had lunch at the Thrill Grill. I think this is turning out to be a great place for lunch. I opted for the Kranenburger, a burger. On the picture it looks so simple but the flavor combination is awesome. A beef burger , lettuce, red onion jam, Blue Cheese dressing and crushed black pepper on a toasted organic bun. Hmmmm so good. Also their homemade Ice tea is soooo good.

Afterwards it was shopping around and scoring some great deals really. For dinner we had some nice sushi.  Afterwards we chilled out in front of the tv all in all a good day,

Day 3 day of cake

As per Dutch tradition you usually get cake for your co workers. Unfortunately I forgot to make pictures of these cakes. I got  3 cakes and they were delicious.  They all went down a treat.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. I am planning to do a what I got for my birthday post and do a little haul post what  I got during those days. For last year festivities click here . Until next post friends!

Etos Haarlem Station mini Haul

Etos Haarlem Station mini Haul

Hello Friends,

So I was bored and I was not feeling to well, so what do you do ? You end up spending money. Seriously! Not that I do not enjoy this , but saving up for a deposit for a house is expensive. Dang it people.   But once in a while you bump into a great offer and your like sh*****t that is a good deal!  And then you say  bye bye savings.  Ok it was not that much money, just like the drama gegegge.

So the good deal which I found ¬†was buy 1 get 1 free for L’Oreal. Usually L’Oreal is one of the most expensive products for the drugstore in the Netherlands. Because of this I ¬†could not resist picking up two ¬†L’Oreal Brow artist Plumpers and the L’Oreal Extraordinary oil for the face and L’Oreal Extraordinary Mask cream . Also when I was checking out, I noticed a giant 100 ml bottle of Heat from Beyonce only for 15 euros! ¬†Which I find is an absolute steal. I think this smells so good and dare I say it , smells sexy?

All and all, I hope you liked this little haul. If you like these types of posts, please feel free to hit that subscribe button. Until next post friends and have a good weekend!

Birthday shopping, lunch and gifts

Birthday shopping, lunch and gifts

Hi my dear readers,

Last Wednesday my big sis took me out for shopping and lunch as a b-day gift. Also she let me pick¬† two items from the MAC counter in Douglas ūüėć. Hurrah for MAC. Even my sis picked up a new lippie.

So let me go back in time and describe to you this delightful day or as Barney Stinson from how I met your mother would say dee- ( pause from drama) lightful.

We planned to meet up at 13:00 hours, but whoops was late (sorry sis). In the end we met up at 13:45 as the train and bus connections worked out. Maybe it helped a little that the train was delayed  for 5 minutes.

We started out to go too Douglas a big retailer for highend makeup in The Netherlands and Germany. So like I mentioned before we started out at Douglas at the  MAC counter. We were helped by a lovely lady and I already knew I wanted to have the Angel lipstick. To go with this lipstick I also got my very first MAC lip liner in Rosy Rim. My sis bought the lipstick Velvet Teddy, a lipstick which is on my wish list too.

After this we decided to have some lunch. We were planning not to go too Bagels and Beans but in the end we went there because their coffee and food is delicious.

So this was what I chose at  Bagels and Beans for lunch:

A Pado burger. Reading back the name of that bagel it sounds so wrong. (Fyi Bagel and Beans is not that kind of coffee shop)

A home made mixed Juice and a chai latte made with Soy Milk. I love their chai.  Yum yum. Lunch was delicious as usual but next time I will opt for my precious Bagel with goat cheese and honey or their Japanese Salmon bagel. Check out the picture below.

Mouth watering no?

After lunch we went to do some groceries for dinner (Fried Rice and Charsiu) Before we went to my sis house¬† I did manage to visit another¬† highend ¬†and ¬†drugstore stores. I purchased brow gels/fillers to compare with my L’Oreal brow plumper. I opted for a brow gel from Essence and Gosh.¬† When¬† I came home and tested¬† this on my sis The first results where really disappointing and one of the brow gels gave my sister an itch. So I will get back too you on this matter.

Before and during dinner we watched some films and series which was very cozy. All I can say I had an awesome day.
Hope you enjoyed this post if you did please  like this blog and remember you can now follow me via Bloglovin.
