Bali Day 5

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

The day started early at aprox 6.30 as I had to be ready by 8.00 hrs for the pick-up for my excursion to Ubud.

We started out at the Monkey Forest Sanctuary full of Macaque monkeys.  This was a fun excursion and the Forest was and is beautiful. To be honest the monkeys were quite cheeky once they knew you had food on you. Especially the leader.

Aferwards we left for Ubud market and the Kings Summer  Palace. At the moment they are restoring the palace but one thing I know for sure the palace will look beautiful once done. Really the architecture in Bali is beautiful. Even the airport love it.

After exploring Ubud for about 40 minutes it was back to the little bus and of to the Tirta Empul Temple.

This is a very peaceful place and we saw people cleansing themselves. Also we were witness of a very rare dancing ceremony.

Once we visited the temple it was time for lunch. I had Gado Gado. Very tasty!  This was the first time I had it without rice but none the less tasty.

For our last stop we visited local woodcarvers. I am so impressed  that these people can make such beautiful sculptures out of wood.

Afterwards we were dropped of at our hotels and I enjoyed a well deserved shower session.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and as always feel free to leave a comment.

Until next post friends!

Traveling to Bali + Bali Day 1

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Welcome back to Thumbalinaslifestyle after some time of radio silence!

So yes after months of anticipation, on the third of May 2017  I started the most exciting trip of  my life!

My flight left  Amsterdam at around 21.00 hrs to Singapore. As we were a bit delayed.  Once in the air they started provisies some snacks and drinks. A nice touch was the warm cloth they provided after the snack. Good Job KLM!

You could either choose for chicken in Oister Sauce or Pasta. As my sister cautioned me for the pasta, I opted chicken. It was not bad, not mind blowing but  that was to be expected. Did find the combination of Rice and Bread bit weird anyhow. Enter picture of Dinner

All though I was glued to my entertainment set anyway from moment of take off, after dinner and coffee I went fully movie style.

I first started with the film Dr Strange as I missed out on that one in the cinema afterwards I selected Starwars  Rogue 1.  I did notice I fel a sleep during that one as I was getting bit sleepy.

Overall I slept some hrs but I was not all the time very comfortabel. Thank God for the pillow and the blanket.

At around 5 I started to wake up and started to freshen up as I did not want to queue long for the toilet. Which was a great tip. Not long afterwards we got breakfast. Which  was some scrambled eggs, rösti, fruit and yoghurt. Must say the fruit and yoghurt were a nice touch and were most edible.

Once breakfast was done it was about 1.5 hrs to Singapore.

Transfer in Singapore was Quick and well organised. Way better that in Amsterdam.

From Singapore it was only 2hrs by plane. We had the most enjoyable  dinner, allthough I thought. It had something homey to it. Spiced chicken and Rice with some Asian salad.  Tasty!

We arrived to Bali when it was already dark  and we had to queue up for the Visa. I must say did took some time but worth it.

Once out of the airport, I got hot by the sweltering heat and my transfer was ready to go. Wow I must say Denpasar Airport looks beautiful.

I was met by Lovely people and a refreshing drink in the hotel and after a Quick check in guided to my room.

My Room did not disapoint and I will include that in a future post! I took a long shower and had some tea and Just relaxed as it was quite late. I believe I slept at 2 am in the morning.

I hope you all enjoyed this post!

Until next time friends!

Thumbs February Favorites

Hi Everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

March has started and it is time for a very belated Thumbs February Favorites. This blog post contains some lifestyle and beauty faves. So I hope you will enjoy it !

Douglas Home Spa Balancing Shower Foam in Polynesian Dream.

This just smells very Spa like and smells so clean. It is very hard for me to describe this fragrance but it smells sooo good.  So if you can get hold of this shower gel I would !

Essie For the Twill of It

This is just such an interesting polish. Sort of monochromatic. You can see different colors in it like blue’s,purple’s, greens and grey’s. It is just gorgeous and this polish  wears very well.

Cauliflower Rice

Side tracking a bit here but please bear with me. This is such a great alternative to rice if you don’t want any carbs for your dinner.  For example the cauliflower rice matches very well with a green vegetable curry.

Mac Face and Body Foundation in NC25

It is a nice light foundation that evens out the skin tone for a natural look . I have often gravitated to this foundation if I felt like wearing foundation.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar pallet

Fave colours : White Chocolate, Marzipan  Strawberry  Bon Bon and Creme Brulee

MAC Strobe Cream

Just gives back a lot of luminosity to the skin. Your skin looks fresh, dewy and healthy and overall my makeup looks better.  But that is my just my opinion.

Booked Bali Trip

I cannot remember if I wrote about this before, but in 2 months time I am flying to Bali for a 16 day trip.  Whoop whoop! I have never been so far away  from home, but I am looking so forward to it. At the moment I have the time and freedom to travel and I am taking full advantage of that. My plan is to write some posts from Bali if I am disciplined  and if the Wifi agrees. So hopefully this happens.

I hope you all  enjoyed this post and as always feel free to leave a comment.

Until next post friends!

Thumbs Nails of the Month : OPI The Thril of Brazil

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

A little bit delayed but here is your monthly dose of Thumbs Nails of the Month. For this months pick I am using OPI The Thrill of Brazil. I can understand why they called it Thrill of Brazil, the red is just so vibrant and lively looking.

Last Thursday I spotted this polish when I was checking out at the Etos. It was such a great bargain as it only cost € 6.oo instead of the usual € 14,95.

As already written the colour is a blood red colour which glides on very easily. The pigmentation is really good but for the overall look I settled with two coats of the polish. Before applying I used a base coat and finished with a layer of a gel top coat. I must say I really enjoy using this polish and OPI has yet to disappoint me.  Please see my overall thoughts on the polish

Thumbs up for

Application

Color

Pigmentation

Thumbs  down for

Absolutely nothing

Primark PJ Haul

Hi everybody,  dear readers and loyal subbies,

I was in desperate need of new jammies, and as recently a 5 stories high Primark was opened in  Amsterdam I popped in and walked out with 4 sets of PJ’s.

Can I just say the Primark in Amsterdam is a fantastic one,  and I must say it is the best Primark I ever walked into. It was so clean and organised. Just Wow! Would not be surprised if I visit that particular store in the future again.

Oh my god check out these cute PJ’s!

Bambi PJ – I love the Bambi’s on it and it so adorable with the pink and the Bambi’s

Alice and Wonderland – I am a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and this PJ set has original drawings of the book on it.

I Eat Glitter for Breakfast PJ – What more can I say , ofcourse I Eat Glitter for Breakfast heheh.

Grumpy Kitty PJ – I bought this one, A because I am a huge cat fan and B look at the text and the photo. Come on it is priceless!

You can see that the overall trend is that I like my PJ’s nice and short as somehow I seem to be very warm  of late in my bed and I  don’t want to be to hot during the night.

I hope you all enjoyed this PJ haul and hope to be back soon with dare I say it with another one.

Until next post friends

5 Things That Make Me Happy!

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Today something new on my blog and hopefully you will all enjoy it.

Sometimes it is good to reflect on things that make you happy! Even though sometimes you might have some negative moments in your live. Therefor I thought it would be good for me to write about 5 things that make me happy.

Curious about the things that make me happy ? Keep on reading!

Having my own independence .  I am really happy that I  have my own independence . I can do the things I want, buy the things I want,  and go on holiday whenever I want without relying on others. It is just a great feeling. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy to be spoiled by others  from time to time.

Having my health and improving my health.  Yeeh last year was the first year that my migraine and headache attacks were less,  and for that I am so thankful. Not feeling sick as frequent as I used to feel makes me so happy. Also not being on the medication for the migraines has improved by health and finally I am shedding some of that weight gain from that medicine .

Having  friends and family surrounding us  Actually I should have put this as number one. But who can be happy without having a nice support net of friends and family. Who would we be without them. And yes sometimes you feel you could strangle these people but in the end they are always there for you.

Relax and Fun time I have realized this last year, it has been very important , to plan chill time just for me.  Either going to the cinema, having a coffee with others or by myself or going to a magic show with a friend . These moments make me happy and I can just chill out and time flies by.

Finding unexpected beauty when not expected. Even though  I am  not the biggest fan of the cold , I have been surprised by some beautiful scenery these last days.  For example the frosting on the trees was beautiful last week. And we saw beautiful red skies. Fortunately I don’t have any pictures of that. It was just amazing!20170118_083135.jpg

I hope you all liked this post, even though it was something completely new to my blog . Please feel free to leave a comment, and if you like these posts feel free to subscribe.

Until next post friends
