Thumbs Nails of the Month : OPI The Thril of Brazil

Thumbs Nails of the Month : OPI The Thril of Brazil

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

A little bit delayed but here is your monthly dose of Thumbs Nails of the Month. For this months pick I am using OPI The Thrill of Brazil. I can understand why they called it Thrill of Brazil, the red is just so vibrant and lively looking.

Last Thursday I spotted this polish when I was checking out at the Etos. It was such a great bargain as it only cost € 6.oo instead of the usual € 14,95.

As already written the colour is a blood red colour which glides on very easily. The pigmentation is really good but for the overall look I settled with two coats of the polish. Before applying I used a base coat and finished with a layer of a gel top coat. I must say I really enjoy using this polish and OPI has yet to disappoint me.  Please see my overall thoughts on the polish

Thumbs Nails of the Month: Purple & Sparkly nails using ft Miss Sporty & OPI

Thumbs Nails of the Month: Purple & Sparkly nails using ft Miss Sporty & OPI

Welcome to the first Thumbs Nails of the Month for 2017! And what a sparkly post it will be. To be honest this nail look  would have been perfect for New Years Eve. Grr why did I not think of that one before. Tough! I am a firm believer to wear whatever you want, when you want!

For this nail look I used the following:

Essie First Base Coat

Miss Sporty 556 a purple color

 OPI’s In True Stefani Fashion

I started with a layer of the Essie First Base Coat followed by 2 layers of the purple polish. Boy did I struggle with applying this polish.  It really went on gloopy and thank god that result was covered up by the OPI polish. This is the first glitter polish that I ever tried which went on easily. Impressive claim no?

Overall I must say I love the outcome of this look. So if you like this look give it a try. And if you enjoyed these types of posts please like or subscribe.

Until next post friends!

Thumbs nails of the month: Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer nr 117 Mauve To the Best

Thumbs nails of the month: Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer nr 117 Mauve To the Best

Hello everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Yes finally I am back with a new blog post. The reason for my absence was that I was very busy with moving house. Yep I am now a proud owner of an apartment and at last I can unwind a bit as the drama of arranging a mortgage and moving is now over.  But enough said about my private life and lets talk polish.

For this month I went for a lovely autumnal polish by the brand Catrice. It is beautiful mauve/taupe color and it look so cozy on the nails ( If that makes sense). Yes one notices I can explain things quite well (ermm).   I used 3 layers of polish, but 2 layers look already opaque. Afterward I finished with a gel top coat.

I am really happy to be writing again and hope to see you back soon for my new post.

Thumb’s nails of the month: W7 Wild Blue

Thumb’s nails of the month: W7 Wild Blue

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

I should have posted this post several days ago, but some exciting things are currently happening in my life. So therefor blogging has been put on a bit of a hold.  However today I really wanted to post! This months nail polish is from the brand W7 and is called Wild Blue.

W7 is an affordable brand and they often sell products that tries to mimic high end brands.  In my opinion this polish look like a polish from the brand OPI. The way the bottle is designed and even the lid is very OPI.

As you might see from the photo’s, the color is a metallic cool blue which is mesmerizing. However I struggled a bit with the application of the polish. The brush is teeny tiny and you really have to apply 3 layers of the polish to make the color opaque.

My over all thoughts are the following

Thumbs up for

Price just 2,95 euro’s

Color

Quick drying

Thumbs down for

Small Brush

Smell. Very strong polish smell. Not sure how to describe it.

I am still pondering about if I like this polish or not. It is not bad for the price and if you don’t mind layering 3 times then you might like it.  Again the color makes a lot up for the negatives mentioned!

I hope you all  liked this post!  For my last post click here. Until next post friends!

Thumbs nails of the month : KiKo Power Pro Nail Lacquer in 82

Thumbs nails of the month : KiKo Power Pro Nail Lacquer in 82

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

After some radio silence I am back with some nail loving.  Must say that my nails were sort of sad looking and it was time to jazz them up. All though some might say they are still a bit dull looking.  But I LOVE them !

The color 82  is a taupe grey color with a slight lilac undertone to it. Which I find very stunning of course.  I used the Essie first base, for my base coat followed by two layers of the nail lacquer in 82. I finished with the KiKo Gel effect top coat, which is very BOM .COM! FYI!

Thumbs down for:

Design ( Brush is not attached to the lid . There is an extra lid to it. Why? Don’t ask me , still trying to figure this one out. )

Overall KiKo did very well with this polish. It is a beautiful color, has lovely  pigmentation to it  and  is easy to work  with. If all the polishes from KiKo are like this, then they have a winning product!

Thumbs nails of the month: Rimmel 407 Hot Tropicana

Thumbs nails of the month: Rimmel 407 Hot Tropicana

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Today, even though a little later than expected, Thumbs nails of the month! We have experienced quite a lot of sunshine these last 2 weeks, and this has showed in the way I have dressed and of course how  my nails have looked. Therefor I opted for a color that screamed spring/summer too me.

Rimmel has given this polish a very appropriate name, as when I look at my nails I visualize myself jetting of somewhere nice, beachy and  tropical. Let me share my overall thoughts on this polish

Thumbs up for:

  • Color – Such a perfect color for spring and summer.Very Neon pink in real life, on the photo it looks almost salmony.
  • Wear- This polish has stayed on for 4 days with minimal chipping. For me that is very rare.
  • Dries very quickly

Thumbs down:

  • Coverage- Goes on very streaky. Had to use 3 layers to even everything out.

What is your favorite spring polish? What would you recommend? For last months Thumbs nails click here. And as always if you enjoyed this post please like or subscribe!

Mini nail polish purge

Mini nail polish purge

Hello dear readers,

I thought it was about time to clean out some of my polishes which went off or which I absolutely dislike.  I always struggle with chucking things out, but whats the point to keep things which are expired or bluntly said crap. A question I always have is that I  never know where to deposit polish in. It cannot be good to chuck these in the regular garbage. Is it? If anyone has an answer to that one please let me know!

Time to get through this specific list.I will  write down what I think of these polishes and if I would recommend these polishes to you all or if I would repurchase these again. Looking at my list most of them are topcoats. O well c’est la vie!

Rimmel Nail Nurse Stronger base coat. This is a nice base coat from Rimmel. It has a nice brush and goes on very evenly. For sure I would repurchase this base coat and would for sure recommend.

Rimmel Finishing Touch Ultra Shine Topcoat.  This is my second fave topcoat . Again this one is from  Rimmel. Yes I would repurchase this one. And it is a cheaper alternative to the Sally Hansen gel topcoat.

17 Nail Xtras strengthening base coat. I did not really like this base coat. This one did not go on evenly plus the brush was very tiny. Would not repurchase this one.

Essie No Chip ahead nail top coat. Very disappointed with this product.  You would think that Esssie  would bring out an outstanding topcoat. Boy I was wrong and would not recommend this one to you.

Herome W.I.C polish in color 13.  I wrote a little rant about this polish a year ago. Hells no I I would not repurchase this one for my life.

I hope you all liked this mini purge. Do you guys  purge your collections often? Please feel free to leave a comment. For my last nail related post click here. Until next time Friends!

Thumbs nails of the month: Miss Sporty Lasting Colour in 5105

Thumbs nails of the month: Miss Sporty Lasting Colour in 5105

Hi everybody, dear readers and loyal subbies,

Its May! and the beginning of the month, so its time for Thumbs nails of the month.  For this month I opted for a cheap polish from the brand Miss Sporty in color 5105. This polish claims to last up to 10 days and has a maxi brush to coat your nails. I used two coats to do my and topped it of with my favorite Sally Hansen Gel Top coat.

Thumbs up for the  following:

  • Price
  • Lovely Vintage pin up red
  • Nice brush and application
  • Pigmentation

Thumbs down for  the following:

  • Minimal chipping after one day. Therefor thinking that this polish will not last 10 days on my nails.

I hope you all liked this post. For my last post click here  and as always please feel free to leave a comment.  Just a quick question to all  people who suffer from eczema any tips? My hands are killing me at the moment. Grr def going to be a un-favorite for the month of May.
